Westward view from the roof of GMP Clubhotel and Pühajärve restaurant. On the right you see Neitsijärv (Virgin Lake) from where water flows into Pühajärv ( Holy Lake ) on your left. Pühajärv is situated next to Southern Estonian parish centre and famous inland resort Otepää, considered to be our  winter or skiing capital. Comprising just around one and half square miles of water surface but being dotted by five islands and surrounded by historically and culturally overloaded pictoresque landscape it is like our the Sea of Galilee, meaning the most depicted lake in Estonian art history. The holiness of the lake has been explained by the local olden belief, that the lake  landed or splashed down there direct from the heaven.
